Time Traveler or Local Legend? Meet Gregory Allen & His Amazing Pedal Buggy!

Have you ever been downtown and done a double take as a man - dressed like he stepped out of another era - zoomed past on a carriage straight out of the 1800s? No, Boise hasn’t been visited by a time traveler. That’s just local inventor Gregory Allen, cruising in style on his handcrafted Pedal Buggy, a joyful blend of functional transportation and art.

These one-of-a-kind tricycles combine the nostalgia of a classic carriage car with the efficiency of a modern e-bike; making them perfect for cruising with friends, commuting comfortably, or turning heads during a bike parade through town.

Check out the awesome video below by BBP member & videographer Zach Voss, which was selected to screen at the Telluride MountainFilm Festival! You can even catch a glimpse of the BBP’s retro shop in the short film.

During Bike Prom on March 14th, a Pedal Buggy will be available for public purchase for the first time ever! Gregory has generously donated a handcrafted Pedal Buggy to be auctioned during the event, giving one lucky prom-goer the chance to own this incredible ride while supporting BBP’s mission.

We hope you’ll join us for a night of fun and the chance to win this pedal-powered work of art. Can’t make it to Bike Prom but still want to bid? Email gillian@boisebicycleproject.org to place an absentee bid.
