Adult Programs
Every adult should have access to a bike.
BBP empowers adults by providing access to affordable, high-quality bicycles, repair services, and hands-on education, regardless of income. Our mission is to bridge the gap in access, ensuring every individual has the tools and knowledge to experience the freedom and self-reliance that come with riding and maintaining a bike.

Shifting Gears
Shifting Gears is a partnership program with the Idaho Department of Corrections that empowers adults in custody to prepare for their future release by earning a bicycle through meaningful service. Participants repair bikes that are then gifted to children in the community during BASH (Bicycle and Safety Hour) events and the Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway. Women from the South Boise Women’s Correctional Center are also invited to attend BBP’s volunteer nights and special events, where they can enhance their mechanical skills, contribute as invaluable volunteers, and establish a positive presence in the shop.
work trade
BBP offers a work trade program to ensure everyone has access to bicycle repairs and parts, regardless of financial means. Through this program, participants can exchange 1 hour of work for 1 hour of shop time or $17 worth of used parts and supplies. Participants may work up to 2 hours per day. To get started, please bring your bicycle to the shop during regular shop hours. BBP staff will assess the repairs needed and determine the required work trade time.
