Boise Goathead Fest

  • Cecil D. Andrus Park 601 West Jefferson Street Boise, ID, 83702 United States (map)

The Boise Goathead Fest is a wonderfully weird celebration of Boise's bicycle culture & goathead removal around the city. This one-day festival kicks off with an eccentric pedal-powered parade. Festival-goers dress up in their favorite kooky costume, bring their person-powered ride (bikes, rollerblades, scooters, etc.), and roll with Boise Bicycle Project and thousands of others through the streets! After the parade, the festival grounds are filled with live music, artwork, funky bikes, food trucks, and beer from Lost Grove Brewing. After six action-packed years, Boise Goathead Fest has grown into one of the largest bicycle festivals in the United States!

The Pedal-Powered Parade

The Pedal-Powered Parade kicks off with a pre-launch party at 10:30am in Cecil D. Andrus Park and on the steps in front of the Idaho State Capitol Building. Try to arrive around 10:30 to get settled before the parade begins. The Parade officially starts a rollin' at 11am! The parade route this year will be around 1.5 miles long (subject to slightly change as we get closer to the event). We'll be rollin' at an "all ages, all bikes, party pace," and it should take us about 20 minutes to get back to the festival grounds (Cecil D. Andrus Park).

The Festival

When the parade ends the party begins! During the festival we'll celebrate all things pedal-powered with live music, dancing, food & drinks, quirky bikes, eclectic art, a costume contest, and our pedal-powered energy station.
