Black Friday was named so in the 1950s due to the heavy vehicle traffic, and sometimes violence, caused by the hordes of people out shopping for pre-Christmas deals.
In 2016, REI created the #optoutside movement to reconnect to the outdoors during the holiday season. In doing so, they gave their retail employees the day off on the busiest shopping day of the year.
BBP can get behind this. We're staying closed after Thanksgiving on Friday, November 29 and encouraging our team members to get outside with the people they love.
That includes you. Join us for our Friday Night Bikes (FNB) Black Friday Edition: Get Outside and Ride.
(In this case we're replace in the "night" in FNB with a solid afternoon start time.)
Meet at BBP at 2pm for a 2:15 departure. Ride route and location TBD (we'd love your suggestions)!
