CHRIS CAMACHO

BBP Board Member

My wife and I began engaging with the Boise Bicycle Project in 2010 when we discovered enjoyment from socializing with fellow bike riders and advocates.  Throughout the years, I've volunteered, attended social events and rides, and partnered with the Boise Bicycle Project through my work with the City of Boise Parks and Recreation Department (I oversee a portion of the City's youth out-of-school programs).  Iā€™m grateful to be on the Board of Directors and further assist with growing the bicycle community.

I started working with youth while attending Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.  I mentored and supported youth and teenagers in housing programs while they transitioned from detention centers back to their homes.  After graduating, I followed my wife to Boise in 2008 and began working for the City in 2009. We now have 2 daughters and live on the Central Bench.

When I'm not running or riding around with my kids, you may spot me at a brewery, socializing at local events, talking about music and movies (I also worked at a record shop in college), lacing up my hiking boots, enjoying a donut on the weekend, or pretending I know how to build things.
