Volunteers and staff have working around the clock to get the new warehouse and mechanic area ready to rock. While we don’t expect the space to be “finished” until the grand opening on April 27th, we do expect it to be volunteer ready by the end of the month. And so, we are inviting all past, present, and future volunteer to join us on Thursday March 31st to learn about the plethora of volunteer opportunities coming online online in April, expanding in May, and reaching full capacity by the time summer begins. At the meeting we’ll discuss:

Mobile Fix-it shifts
Daily Donation Processors
Daily Mechanic Shifts / Shop Assistants
Monthly Bike Giveaways aka Kid BASH!
Monthly Kids Fix-it Nights in the shop
Adopt-a-Bike (take home bike repair)
Volunteer Mechanic Training
Cookie and Snack makers!
Event Volunteers
Goathead Removal
And other opportunities.
And while we don’t believe a new Volunteer Coordinator will have officially started, we have high hopes of making an announcement and/or introduction at the meeting.
After this meeting, programs will start moving pretty fast. We expect to donate about 1000 bicycles to kids, teens and adults in 2022. We expect to pull about 10,000 lbs of goatheads around the neighborhoods we distribute bicycles. We expect pedal-powered parades and a Goathead Fest with over 5000 riders. We expect to serve 100s of kids with free mobile and in shop bike repair. We can only do this with help of our volunteer team and we are inviting volunteers of all ages, all genders and all abilities to attend the Volunteer Activation meeting and get involved.
