FIVE ways you can “Rock the Spot” at Boise Goathead Fest 2021

We’ve been talking it up for a few weeks now, and the time to register for THE Boise Goathead Fest (BGF) PEDAL POWERED PARADE is FINALLY HERE!

Here’s an overview of what you can expect on Saturday, August 28 at Cecil D. Andrus Park in Downtown Boise:

  • A pedal powered parade through Downtown Boise that kicks off at the Capitol Steps at 10:00 AM

  • A day-long bicycle loving festival in Cecil D. Andrus Park from 11-5pm

  • Interactive fest events all day long, emceed by Celeste the Dance Commander. Think dance-offs, costume competitions, bike races, and more

  • Beer presented by Lost Grove Brewing, including 2021’s special edition Boise Goathead Fest brew

  • Music presented by Morrison Center…headliner announcement coming soon!

  • Food from local favorite food trucks like Kanak Attack, Fly Food Truck, The Stil, and more

  • The most sustainable BGF yet, powered by Joule Case

  • And more surprises to come!

So dust off those costumes, friends, because Boise Goathead Fest must not be missed!

Here are FIVE ways you can “rock the Spot” at Boise Goathead Fest 2021

1. Become an BGF 2021 Official Ambassador!

We are seeking 100 individuals who live and breathe the magic of BGF. You few, you rad, you wonderfully weird folks will be true stokers of 2021’s event. And after the year we’ve all had, we need you more than ever. Invest $125 in BGF and the future of this festival, and proudly shout from the rooftops that you are an Official Ambassador. Not only does becoming an ambassador make you way cooler than your friends, you get a super special swag package, too, which includes…

  • A super rare BGF holographic sticker for ambassadors only. Pick your favorite place to stick this one, because you’re one of only 100 who get it.

  • A verrrrrry limited edition MiiR Can Chiller. We will have a super small quantity of these available for sale at the festival (like fewer than 75), so the only way to guarantee you get one is to become an Official Ambassador. Kevin Belisle is cooking up our design, and we’re keeping it top secret until right before the festival.

  • A BGF tee shirt. Kelly Knopp is back with this year’s design.

  • The 2021 BGF Parade Patch

  • 2 beverage tokens to be used at the fest

  • Aaaand, for the first time in the fest’s history, a BGF pin!

Your Official Ambassador swag package is valued at $75. And, of course, the pride you’ll feel from being a true believer in our lil festival is priceless. Ready, set, activate!… register for the parade and choose the ambassador option now.

2. Register for the Pedal Powered Parade!

We need you to RSVP! We really, really do. The best way for us to track how many folks from our wacky cycling community show up for this event, is by every single person who either rides in the parades or joins us at the park for festivities this year registers! A suggested $6 registration donation gets you this years BGF patch. But as always, participation in the parade and festival is totally free. Donating for a patch or attending for free, we ask that you register either way. (For really real, please register!)

3. Eradicate the nutlets (aka Pick those goatheads!)

Get a group together, pick solo, or join the BBP team on one of our weekly picking parties! Either way, roll up those sleeves and let’s get picking. The drop off location for those nasty nutlets is at the North End Organic Nursery in Garden City. Look for the dumpster in front of the building, weigh your haul, and scan the QR code to enter your information for special picking prizes! Psssst…Mindy and Em are picking on Friday and would love for you to join in! (Our apologies: Facebook settings refer to the park only as Quarry View Park and not by its actual name, Eagle Rock Park).

4. Get your costume ready!

The parade wouldn’t be what it is without all of you wonderful weirdos dressed to the nines. And for the first time in festival history, we’re also hosting a costume contest this year. This means you have to come geared up with your best costumes yet! Don’t forget: you can register for the parade as a team, so grab your friends, pick a costume theme, and roll on down to the parade!

5. Spread the word!

WE MISS YOU. It’s been too long since Downtown Boise has had a REALLY BIG event. The more, the merrier; and BGF 2021 is going to be amazing because you, and you, and you, and you, and all of your favorite people ride along.
