11/3 UPDATE: Appreciation Party Agenda

11:00 - 12:00… …Pre-party Teen Bike Giveaway

We’re hosting our final B.A.S.H (Bike & Safety Hour) of the year, and this one’s geared toward teenagers. This is your opportunity to volunteer and get some hands-on experience with one of our largest annual programs. We have about 12 volunteer spots available. If you’re interested in participating (hint: this event will fill your cup), let Emily know - emily@boisebicycleproject.org

12:00… …Official event start time at Lost Grove!

This is an open house style event, so you can drop by at any time. However, here are a few reasons you might want to show up early:

-If you joined or renewed your membership during the Membership Drive, you can pick up your member swag and super special BBP water bottle.

-You’ll want to peruse our silent auction items and make your bids

-Coming early gives you one last chance and plenty of time to buy your raffle tickets

-Be first in line to purchase lunch from Kanak Attack, if you want

-More time to mingle with the BBP community

Your $10 entry fee includes first beverage (we have beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options), a yummy treat, and entrance into a door prize giveaway.

12:30 - 1:20… …Optional Walking Tour of the BBP Warehouses

(AKA a visual representation of how we pull off logistical magic)

A guided tour of our beloved “Pizza Hut” space and our brand-new warehouse

1:30 - 2:15… …Remarks and Awards

A brief presentation by BBP Staff and Board and a celebration of our staff, volunteers, and stokers

2:15 - 3:00… …Condensed Tour of the Warehouses

If you arrive a bit later in the afternoon, here’s a 2nd opportunity to learn about our logistical processes

3:00 - 3:30… …Raffle!

Live drawing for our 5 raffle bikes and announcement of Silent Auction winners (Silent Auction will close at 3pm)

3:45… …Optional Foot Down at Ann Morrison Park

Ride into the park with BBP’s staff to spend about 45 minutes playing Team BBP’s favorite bike game - Foot Down

4:00…The event is officially over, but we know Lost Grove will welcome you to stay and keep connecting.

Original Post Resumes Here:

Last month we made the decision to postpone our Annual Appreciation Party , which we’ve traditionally held during the first or second weekend of October. As Boise approached the end of summer and the transition into fall, it just seemed like there was a lot going on across the community; and we got the sense that everyone felt a bit over-scheduled…

…But we couldn’t cross the 14-year milestone as an organization and not throw a party at all. So we’ve re-imagined the event; and without further ado, we’re so excited to invite you to the party!

We’re committed to hosting an outdoor event. So with crisp, fall temps heading our way, we’ve decided to host a daytime block party! Here’s what you can expect…

  • A very special pre-event Teen Bike Giveaway, with invitations to participate coming soon

  • A cozy gathering at Lost Grove Brewing with heat lamps, fire pits, and ambience to keep us all warm

  • Kanak Attack food truck serving up made-to-order meals, if you choose

  • A celebration of YOU and our annual acknowledgments of our Volunteer of the Year, Stoker of the Year, the BBP Staff , and more

  • Tours of the famous “Bikezza Hut” warehouse where you can see what goes into prepping for the Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway

  • Tours of our brand new warehouse space immediately adjacent to BBP! (This warehouse arrangement is about 8 years in the making and begins a new chapter of opportunity for BBP).

  • Bike games and a social ride hosted by BBP staff members

  • Door prizes, silent auction items, annnnnnddddd…

…A SUPER RAD raffle of these incredible, BBP custom-built bikes:

    • Surly Long Haul Trucker

    • Rivendell Clem Smith Jr

    • Rivendell Cheviot

    • Soma Buena Vista

    • Cervélo S5

We know that there’s bound to be a ton of excitement for these bikes. The team is working on building them right now; and we’ll have photos, descriptions, and raffle ticket sales available very soon!

Your $10 ticket covers event entry, your first beverage, a cookie, and entry into a door prize drawing. Proceeds from the party will be applied to funding this year’s Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway.

2021…whew…what another doozy of a year. But we have SO much to celebrate. Find your coziest clothes and get ready to join us on November 13th!
