Introducing BBP's Newest Talent!

We’ve had a busy few weeks at BBP onboarding 4 new team members! Now that everyone’s settled in our space and they know where to park their bikes and stash their lunches, it’s time for me to officially introduce you to them!

Kaleb joined the team first as our newest shop mechanic and educator. We’ve been lucky to have Kaleb for a bit over a month now. Our next three newest team members joined in rapid sequence starting with Mindy, then Ralph, and finally, Kevin!

I’m a big fan of when folks are able to introduce themselves in their own words and be seen as they want to be seen. So below, I’ll share a few words from each of them; and then you can hop on over to their bios to finish learning all about them.

Mindy Hoskins - Event & Outreach Manager

“I’m a native Idahoan, and like to think that I’m a hilarious blend of country and “city”. I grew up on 10 acres just outside of Boise and I have the privilege of being one of those people who can reminisce about how small Boise used to be. I’m very used to being the loudest person in the room. I think it might just be my picture in the dictionary next to the word extrovert.”

Based on that self description alone, I have to say that I can’t think of a better human to lead the vision for BBP events, outreach, social rides, and general fun into the future!

Kevin Belisle - Graphic Designer & Marketing Manager

“As a kid I loved art! If you had asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would have said “Artist” and that lofty goal has never changed in my life. As a kid I spent most of my time drawing and as I grew up, that passion shifted into the digital space of graphic design.”

Kevin is such a creative force with amazing design style and personal style. I’m very impressed with his collection of patterned button down shirts.

Kaleb Peterson - Bike Mechanic & DIY Shop Educator

“I’ve been lucky enough to be around bikes for the majority of my life, and with that came a huge respect for the bicycle as a tool to affect positive social change. I am very honored and very lucky to work alongside some of the most talented, genuine people in the local bike world and I'm looking forward to working with you as well.”

Kaleb’s mechanics have really rounded out the deep breadth of team talent on our shop floor. They also have some pretty incredible wheelie skills.

Ralph Mugot - Lead Mechanic & Educator

“Boise Bicycle Project has always been for the community throughout my tenure as a mechanic, and I had the opportunity to hop on as the Lead Mechanic and Educator. I’d love nothing but to continue the honest work BBP puts out for the growth of our community. So here I am. Long story short, kid from the Islands to your Lead and Educator for this very amazing organization.”

Fun fact. Ralph is the very first mechanic who helped me with my bike back when I moved to Boise in 2014. I lived up the street from Bikes2Boards and Ralph made sure my bike was always rolling. With only 2 weeks under his belt, Ralph is already connected with our community in the DIY bike shop and beyond.

“The people stuff” is my favorite part of my job. We’re really fortunate to be in a place where we could add not one or two, but four incredibly talented team members to our staff. With growth comes the space for new voices, perspectives, and skills. These folks will be working hard to lead into BBP’s future.

Hold on tight for a lot of great stuff to come. Ralph is already crafting new experiences for member classes and beyond. Kaleb is the first mechanic to join our team post-shutdown, and it’s so exciting to watch them interact with DIY shop users knowing that sooner rather than later, we’re going to be able to expand into the next phase of our re-opening plan. Kevin, Mindy, and I are hard at work at a big plan for this year’s Boise Goathead Fest; and we can’t wait for you to see what’s in store.

Please make a plan to swing into the shop and introduce yourself! Everyone will be so excited to meet you.
