40 kids can ride again, thanks to the Mobile Fix-It team!

This week's Kids Mobile Fix-it stop was a smashing success. In our stop at the Magnolia apartment complex, we were able to get approximately 40 bikes fixed up and rolling down the road! It was a lot of bikes to tackle in 2 hours, and would not have been possible without our amazing community partners and dedicated volunteers!

Our volunteers Guido, Greg and James rode with us from BBP or met us (all on bikes!) in the neighborhood and sprang into action helping us set up our mobile shop as the bikes began to pile up. Soon they were busy wrenching on bikes, getting the kids lined out for repair and helping enroll some of them in our bike giveaway programs.

We were also joined by our community partners, Ben and Brett, who have been fixing kid's bikes in their neighborhood on their own time for years. According to Ben, there have been times when he has come home from work and there is a stack of broken bicycles in the drive waiting for his arrival!

Finally, we had the privilege of our friends Colby and Charlie from Safe Routes to School stopping by to lend a hand. They brought their own bike stands and tools and hopped in to repair some bicycles while simultaneously working with the neighborhood's residents to talk a bit about bike safety and safe riding!

All in all, a successful Mobile Fix-it stop relies heavily on our incredible volunteer and community support... If you are interested please check our Volunteer page for future opportunities!
