GET YOUR TICKETS NOW! It's the raddest bike raffle of all time!
At BBP, every single bike that we refurbish for sale in our shop or for distribution through our programs has been donated. Since 2007, we’ve redistributed nearly 20,000 bikes into the community thanks to generous bike donors who believe in giving their beloved rides a new life.
A few times a year, we come across donors who choose BBP as the destination for their rare/vintage/fancy/luxury/cult-favorite bikes. We’re always so grateful when this happens. In most instances, we refurbish these bikes and sell them in our shop for prices that are vastly lower that what they’d be elsewhere. This means that somebody in our community is acquiring a special piece of bicycle history. But it also means that those bikes are limited to only those who can afford them, even at their discounted prices.
It just so happens that we had 5 very special donations coincide perfectly with the timing of our Annual Appreciation Party, so we decided to do something special and host the Raddest Bike Raffle Of All Time! Our hopes are that a wider audience of bicycle lovers will have have the chance to throw their names in the hat for their dream bike(s). These are bikes with a lot of value, so the cost of one raffle ticket is $25. We’re sweetening the pot and selling 6 raffle tickets for the cost of 4 when you choose to spend $100 on a bundle of tickets.
Pay close attention after the bike descriptions to make sure you understand the rules of the raffle. Please note that while you are encouraged to attend our Appreciation Party on November 13, you do not need to be present to win. This raffle is open to anyone in the lower 48 states, and we will ship bikes to any non-local winner (lower 48 only) for a shipping fee of $125.00.
Scroll through for descriptions of our FIVE raffle bikes: Rivendell Cheviot, Rivendell Clem Smith Jr, Soma Buena Vista, Cervélo S5, and Surly Long Haul Trucker.
The final section of this post includes raffle rules. We’re doing our best to update you as we go, too.
RIVENDELL CHEVIOT
The Rivendell Cheviot is no longer in production, so you’re getting yourself a rare gem. It’s an upright step-through for everyone - and, oh, what a vintage vibe this ride has! The left side of the handlebar features the bike’s original grip, and we couldn’t bring ourselves to change it...Grant Petersen may have actually installed this very grip! (If you don’t like this vibe, we’ll throw in a pair of new grips that we have in-stock at BBP). The group set on this build is what Rivendell originally spec’d, and everything is in mint condition. In comparison to other frames from Rivendell, the Cheviot is great for “general getting around.” It might become the bike that you rode the most when you look back ten, twenty, or maybe thirty years!
The sloped top tube makes it easy for anybody to hop on and give you a comfy feeling when riding. It almost feels as if you were on an old comfy chair.
