I’m a member of the League of American Bicyclists and have found their messaging to be very grounding for me, when it seems like everything is spiraling out of my control. Their newsletters are a great source for inspiration and advocacy education. I recommend you sign up, if you don’t already receive them.

Their most recent message of hope really struck a chord with me:

““Biking is quite literally a lifeline for so many of us during this time—whether it’s the primary way we commute to essential jobs, the way we relieve stress and decompress after being cooped up in our homes, or the way our kids get much-needed exercise when schools are closed and so many other options are off of the table. We know bikes unite us, even as we are so physically separated.””

At BBP, we also believe that bikes are essential. They connect us to something so much greater than ourselves. It is with this idea in mind that we are excited to offer bicycles for sale on our website. With social distancing being a necessary practice, we have some guidelines in place.

Buy it! Click on a bicycle you like. If it tickles your fancy, fits your budget, and fits your body… purchase it online.
Pick it up! 7 days a week from 11-5pm (1027 S. Lusk St. Boise 83702) Call before you head down, call us at 208-429-6520 and we’ll have it waiting for you at the door.
Ride it! Now it’s time to go for a ride.
If you don’t like it, return it within 1 month (in good condition please). We’ll give you store credit, or you can swap it for another bike. (With the shop closed indefinitely, we’ll need to work out communication like this via the phone or email, since you can’t just come down to the shop right now).

For the month of March, each bike comes with a $25 gift card for used parts.

We uploaded our first 12 bikes yesterday, and two have already sold, so we understand that many of you out there are wanting to ride! We are working to add more bikes as they sell out. You might not see exactly what you are looking for online, so if you email us (info@boisebicycleproject.org) with your height and rough specifications (road bike, commuter, etc), we will see if we have anything in our inventory for you. We can’t make any promises on an exact match, but we sure will do our best.

We also have accessories available for purchase online, and you can continue to call the shop for phone sales.
