Every dollar you spend is a choice. Does BBP make the cut?
Last year’s Fall Membership Drive was a smashing success, with just over 250 individuals, families and business joining or renewing. This year, our goal is higher (275), and the stakes are higher, and we aren’t hitting our goal numbers yet.
To be honest, I know that a big part of last year’s success was that we incentivized you to renew one more time at $60 before we raised the cost of the annual dues. (Review the conversation about 2019 membership program changes here). 250 memberships at $60 are a lot easier to sell than 275 at $100.
So I’m asking you to take a minute and look inward. Reflect on what your BBP membership means to you. Reflect on why/how you might share your love of BBP with a friend and encourage them to join. What lights your spark?
Is it the sense of commonality you feel inside of BBP’s four walls and on the streets, greenbelt, and foothills where we ride? We are a place where everyone is welcome, and all bikes belong.
Is it the joy of the ride you experience while participating in our Friday Night Bikes social events or attending Boise Goathead Fest, Bikin’ For Lovin’ or the Annual Appreciation Party? We believe the bicycle is a vehicle for social change and also that it’s simply a heck of a lot of fun.
Is it the access to perks that your membership provides? We have extended shop hours for members, and special discounts and weekly sales for members only.
Is it the knowledge that your membership dollars directly support our work to provide free bikes to kids and bicycle services to teens and adults with urgent needs? Or that your membership dollars directly allow us to support a staff of the best bicycle mechanics in Boise?
Dig deep. What does BBP mean to you? Does it mean enough to act now and renew your membership, come back to us after a lapsed membership, or join for the first time?
$100 is an investment. Believe me, I get that. When I sit down to have financial conversations with my family, I really do understand that I have a choice about where I spend my money and the priorities and financial goals I set. Does BBP fall into your priorities? I sure do hope so. Your membership matters to me.
Would you take a moment to invest in our Official Membership Program today? You can pay $100 up front or take advantage of our monthly subscription to pay over time.
Thank you for believing,
Em
