Boise Goathead Fest during COVID? Heck Yes! Here's How!

Many of you have been wondering and asking about Boise Goathead Fest 2020. Will the Pedal-Powered, Wonderfully-Weird and Bonafide Boise festival continue on August 1st..? We are excited to announce that YES! the show will go on, and we’ve added Radically-Responsible and Absolutely-Analog to our guiding principals. By totally rethinking the festival, we believe we’ve created an experience that will get all of Boise riding (in costume), participating in a shared community wide experience (that doesn’t involve Zoom), and physically enjoying the very best of Boise (at a very safe distance).

Consider Boise Goathead Fest 2020 (COVID Edition) a new beginning…

…that launches in your driveway.

Details Coming, here’s what you need to know for now

A live Goathead Radio Show (hosted by Radio Boise) will air from 9-5pm and provide a community-wide guiding voice/rolling soundtrack to the day’s events.

At 10:30am everyone will roll out of their driveways, in costume, and head to one of the main roll-through Goathead Patch Parties to pick up a map, get their photo taken, play some games, and dance to the music without ever getting off their bicycle. Our goal is to have a Goathead Patch Party within 1-3 miles of most households in Boise.

From there, it’s basically “choose your own adventure.”

  • Head home and party in your front yard

  • Pre order eats and drinks from one of our Bonafide Boise Bike-Throughs (Food and Beverage Partners)

  • Take 5/soak shade/picnic at one our community parks.

  • Swing by as many hourly Nutlet Parties as possible (roll-through experiences hosted by community members all over town)

  • Find a cool down station (refill your water and/or get blasted by ice cold water)

  • Catch all of the Goathead Monsters (Local monster art hidden all over Boise)

  • The possibilities are endless!

Our promise is a pedal-powered experience you’ll never forget, at a safe distance!

“We knew we could keep the Goathead pulling aspect alive, but with the COVID and the need to socially distance, all bets were off for the festival and parade. So rather than spend time planning an event that might be canceled, we reinvented Boise Goathead Fest. What we came up with for August 1st 2020 will be a truly one of kind experience and a ride that Boise will never forget. My hope is that we’ve created a potential path forward for other safe large scale events in Boise and a more vibrant and truly unique future for Boise Goathead Fest.” Jimmy Hallyburton.
