People like us: Getting ready for the #BikeBoom

Over the next several weeks you’ll see a series of posts centered around the existing and emerging BBP community: our Volunteers, Members, Staff, Supporters, our Program Participants. Stories will focus on empowering possibilities. For the last several weeks we’ve focused on showing you that we’re still here, still holding on the best that we can, and still continuing the impact… with you, just at a greater and more isolated distance. As we launch people like us can do things like this, we’ll go from holding on, to bringing you back physically, to pushing things forward.

The stages ahead are exciting because they are also extremely important. Many (including yours truly) predict that we are entering one of the largest BIKE BOOMs our Country and City have seen in decades. Bike shops are already selling out of bikes, people are riding in record numbers on emptier streets, more and more people are exploring outdoor spaces on two wheels. And that means there is a tremendous opportunity to take some big steps in building culture, creating infrastructure, and getting massive amounts of people on bikes.

People like us, can do things like this!

We can help build the next…

People like us do things like this,” is marketing principle made popular by Seth Godin and really speaks to the power of culture to shape decisions, and the ability for culture to change.
